Getting things done can be a good thing, however, I’ve realized that it can also be a negative thing if that’s all I focus on. As a mom, getting things accomplished and checked off the list shouldn’t be our top priority. Our family should be.Read More
I used to think that to be a successful stay at home mom I needed to have a strict schedule and a home in perfect order at all times.
After a few kids, I was a little wiser; I realized that was simply not possible. Life with kids is unpredictable and unless I’m planning on cleaning all day, the house will never be perfect at all times.
Once I was able to wrap my head around letting go of a strict schedule and a perfectly clean home, I was able to relax and enjoy my life as a stay at home mom…even without a schedule ;)
As a stay at home mom, my purpose is to take care of my children, to raise them intentionally, to keep my home clean and tidy, and to feed my family, but more often than not, in the early days, I felt like I was spinning my wheels.Read More
Comparison is the thief of joy
I agree that comparison is the thief of joy. Comparison can be an ugly thing.
Nobody has to teach us how it goes and it shows up at a pretty young age.
If you have children, you have probably heard these comparisons before.Read More
Motherhood became my calling when I became a mom.
Being a mom can be the most amazing, beautiful and rewarding experience in your life!
It is also taxing, challenging, and exhausting. The task of motherhood with all its beauty, doesn’t make it an easy task.
It challenges you physically, mentally and emotionally and in ways that you never anticipated. You will be challenged, stretched and grow in ways that you wouldn’t without children.
It is a constant juggling act to balance it all and to do it with grace, intention and joy.Read More
Overwhelm as a mother and homemaker is a common thing.
So much to do and so little time.
Does this sound like someone you know…yourself perhaps?
There is a fine line between busyness and overwhelm.Read More
I am not a health expert and I do not have a degree in medicine. I am a mom looking to keep her family healthy in the best way I know how.
Personally, I prefer a more natural approach when it comes to our health, and I love learning about how we can take care of our bodies with natural methods, ingredients and sources. As a mama, I feel it is my job to do my best to keep my family healthy.Read More
Our children are not one more thing to add to our to-do list. There will always be things to do and yes, things need to get done, but let go a little. Replace what’s important for what’s most important.
Opportunities with our children can be as simple as taking the time to give them a hug and encouraging word as they walk past, extending the conversation at night when you tuck them in bed, joining in their play, building a fort in the living room or having an impromptu picnic.
These simple moments can have a huge impact on their hearts and ours.
So from a mama heading into the next season, I’m telling you friend “enjoy them while you can, they grow up quickly”.Read More

Having a growing family and mostly one income, has not allowed for a ton of wiggle room over the years in the finance department. As the main shopper in the house (groceries, household items, clothing, etc.) I have had to be creative with how I spend the money and how I cut costs. I know that one or two things may not seem like much, but all the small steps together, can equal big results over the years.Read More
How do some mom’s manage to stay organized even though they have a busy life and multiple kids?
Keeping organized as a mom is more about habits than anything else. An organized mom (or anyone for that matter) has learned to implement good habits in her life; she knows her habits will either help her achieve her goals or derail them.
Being organized is something that can be learned. The biggest factor to being organized is about creating habits and implementing them on a daily basis. Any organized mama has learned strategies and habits that she does daily to keep the home running smoothly.
Here is the list of habits, that you can implement to be more organized in your home and life.Read More
It’s possible to improve your days, as a mom, with a morning routine that is best for your busy life.
Having simple routines and habits in place at the beginning of the day can makeover your day-to-day. Making over your day with routines and habits, can help you accomplish chores, take care of your family, fit in some self-care and get to things that have been on the backburner for far too long.
When we are intentional with how we spend our time, we either set ourselves up for productivity, or set ourselves up for overwhelm. Routines and systems can help us be productive, keep the house clean, with less stress, and enable us to enjoy our day more.
Our morning routine is what we do to start our day and it sets the tone for the entire day.Read More
Having a night routine has been a life saver for my life as a busy mom, and it’s helped to transform my days.
I was tired of the mornings where I felt behind for the day, before my feet had even hit the ground.
I would sleep in a little longer than I should and avoid getting up as long as I could, because tackling the day seemed so overwhelming.
The dirty laundry pile was growing and the dishes were sitting in the sink, waiting for me.
I don’t know about you, but I hate starting my day that way.Read More
A few months ago, I started a new "thing" in my family.
I started dating my kids one on one.
I had no idea it would garner the attention that it has, but other parents are loving the idea!
Here's why I think it's awesome, and why you may want to consider dating your kids too.
I have four kids and life is busy (the constant run-around-like-a-blind-chicken-pulling-all-my-hair-out-and-trying-not-to-throw-a-tantrum-myself BUSY).
We're bouncing from one thing to another without seeming to take a breath in between…and I know I am far from being alone in feeling overwhelmed by the constant chaos.
In a marvelous stroke of parenting genius, Date Nights were born.Read More
I have been exhausted. Not the kind of exhausted that a quick nap will fix, but a weary, wrung out, emotional, mental and physical exhaustion.
This mom life is so incredibly beautiful...and so incredibly exhausting.
Motherhood is no joke.
It can be exhausting and overwhelming as we continually go from one thing to the next; a monotonous, endless cycle of juggling, and acting as CEO of all things family life.
There are days we would much rather stay in bed, then play referee between the squabbling siblings, tackling the endless pile of dishes, preparing meals...again, or reminding our child to do their chore for the 100thtime that week.
Our patience is tested, the noise gets irritating and we are pulled in so many different directions.
All of these little stresses can accumulate into the prefect recipe for an overwhelmed and exhausted mama.Read More
I’ve decided to give up on being Supermom, and that being a good mom is enough.
Here’s why you should give it up too.
I have a question for you: How are we, as moms, supposed to “do it all”, and, what does that even mean ?
I've come to understand “do it all” = Supermom.
But here’s the thing; Supermom doesn’t really exist, and if she did, she’d be exhausted!
Even though Supermom is not reality, great moms are and they do exist. And great mom’s, equal super moms!Read More
