Mango Ginger Turmeric Smoothie

My family has adventurous taste buds, which I am so grateful for as it allows me to experiment with many different flavours. I love to try new things and come up with healthy and flavourful creations.

Smoothies are a snack (meal for me) staple around here, but I was stuck in a rut with our smoothie repertoire. I tend to do banana/peanut butter (or almond butter) or cherry/almond. Those are still our favourites, but I wanted to branch out a bit.

Lately I have been looking into recipes and foods that help heal the gut. Some of the items that came up were local honey (raw and unpasteurized), turmeric, ginger, kefir and many other things.

I was excited to see a smoothie at a local bistro contain many of these ingredients, but unfortunately, it’s too costly and inconvenient to go back on a regular basis to get one, so I decided to try creating it at home.

I am so glad I did! This is now another favourite to add to our smoothie collection. It’s packed with gut healing ingredients and full of flavour!

Over the last few months I have been experimenting with this recipe and it’s delicious, but I seem to be incapable of creating a small batch. Every time I say I’m making a smoothie just for me, it ends up feeding an army.  Plus, my family rarely lets me get away with it because when they hear the blender they know what I am doing and want in on it. So I decided to stop trying to make small batches and just go with it.

Please note that this is a large quantity recipe and it completely fills my Vitamix. My suggestion would be to do a half batch if you're unsure about it fitting in your blender.
