Work From Home With Park Lane

This is me. This is an interview with myself regarding a direct sales company I joined at the beginning of the 2017 summer.

I chose this company because I loved the product, the pay structure and I loved how it made me feel. I felt like I had a whole new wardrobe just by adding a few new jewelry pieces. I could take my regular jeans and t-shirt and dress it up with jewelry to go out without having to find something a little dressier to wear. As a full-time stay at home mom, I don’t have a ton of different types of clothes. The jewelry makes my wardrobe feel more versatile.

Tell me a bit about the company you are with:

Park Lane Jewelry is a company that was started in the US in 1955 by Arthur and Shirley LeVin. It is the world’s leading direct sales jewelry company. They offer excellent quality fashion jewelry that is backed by a lifetime guarantee. If you lose a stone, it tarnishes or breaks, you can send it back for a replacement.

What was your big WHY for joining the company?

I was looking for a way to work from home, be able to earn an income, while still being able to homeschool my children. It was really about the timing that I came across this opportunity.

What type of products does Park Lane create?

Park Lane is all about creating high quality, fashion jewelry.

What does your average work week look like with Park Lane?

To be honest, I know what I should be doing, but time doesn’t always allow for it. I also run a business called Plum Cheeky Solutions and that requires pretty much all of my free time. One of the things that I love about Park Lane is that I can work at it at my own pace. I am not required to have monthly minimums, so I can work when I have time. There’s no pressure to do X amount of sales or shows per month.

How do you sell your products and get it out there in front of people?

Home parties, personal styling and online FB parties are the most common ways of selling products. Fundraisers or community vendor events is also an option. For myself I have done home parties.

What are the start-up costs to become a Park Lane fashion director?

There are 3 kit options with Park Lane which is great for any budget.

The registration is $39 (Occasionally there are promos on this. When I signed up it was on for $5).

1.     The start-up cost for a kit with Park Lane can be free. The kit will be paid for by commissions from your first $600 in sales.

2.     $199 Standard Kit Option (this is the one I chose) for $1000 worth of products, plus business tools to get started.

3.     $600 Presidential Kit Option for $2800 with or products, plus business tools to get started.

What is the pay structure?

Commissions are paid weekly and commissions range from 30-50%. You can also earn a percentage of the sales from those who join you with the Park Lane business.

Are there monthly volumes or requirements for maintaining my consultant status?

No minimums or quotas (YAY!). You get paid when you work. As your business and team grows, there will be a minimum or 2 shows per month to receive payment on your team.

What are your personal favourite products?

That is a tough one! There are so many pieces I love. Two of my favourites are very versatile and practical, they can be dressed up or casual.

I love the Flora Ring and the Moana earrings (these come in silver or gold).

Oh, and the Marina Ring and Marina Earrings!! Seriously there are so many great pieces for any style and any age.

What advice do you have for someone who may be considering Direct Sales as job?

I would say do your research, choose a company that fits you and go for it! If the company has a low start-up cost you really have nothing to lose and lots to gain if you choose to pursue it.

Any final thoughts or comments?

Make a plan of how you are going to work the business and utilize the training that is available to you.

Also, connect with others in direct sales or recruit a team member because it’s so much more fun and encouraging to work this type of business with others.

This business can work, but you do have to put the time in.

Lastly, don’t get discouraged!
