Cute As A Button
Gift giving is so much fun! I especially enjoy giving a gift when it’s useful and beautiful.
I feel the same way about the décor items I bring into my home. If it’s not useful or beautiful…or at least 1 of the 2, I don’t usually bother with it.
After having my first baby many years ago, I remember looking for magnets for my fridge to put baby pictures up. I was very disappointed with what was available. I know, I know, it’s just a magnet, BUT even though a magnet is useful, I wanted it to be nice to look at as well. I didn't think that was too much to ask? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything.
Years later I was walking past the button aisle at Walmart and I had a light bulb moment. I know I’m not the only one who’s had the idea, but for me it was a first, as I had never seen anything like it before. I still had yet to hear about Etsy and Pinterest.
Button magnets! Not just regular buttons, but the cloth covered type as well. It was a fantastic solution and it gave me a creative outlet for using colours, beautiful buttons and printed fabric. It was the perfect idea and once I got started it was hard to stop. There were always new ideas/combinations I wanted to try. I only needed so many myself, so I had fun making gifts to have on hand for a hostess, birthdays, prizes for party games and anything else I might need a quick gift for.
This is what you will need to create your own magnet sets.
