2018 Spring Cleaning Challenge Week 2 Day 3

I have never been a fan of cleaning my oven. It’s overwhelming and difficult to really get in there to clean. When I do finally get it clean, the next time I make a roasted chicken, all the hard work was for nothing.

I thought having a self-cleaning oven was the answer…or so I thought. But then I found out that it’s a stinky process and not good for your oven. So, what’s a girl to do?

My absolute favourite product for cleaning the oven is the Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner. No harsh chemicals and it actually works!!

If Norwex isn’t available to you, then use a baking soda paste and vinegar. See instructions here

You Will Need:

  • Some type of cleaning paste

  • Non-abrasive scrubber of some sort

  • Microfibre cloth

Get Started:

Oven Interior:

  • Remove everything from oven.

  • Coat your oven with Oven and Grill Cleaner or Baking Soda Paste and allow to sit (follow instructions).

  • Clean oven racks in the tub. See more detailed instructions here

  • Once the product has had time to sit, scrub with a non-abrasive stainless-steel scrubber.

  • Wipe out and repeat until you have removed all debris.

  • Replace oven racks

Oven Exterior:

  • Use warm, soapy water with a microfiber cloth and clean the top, sides and front.

  • With a soft brush attachment, vacuum the back of the oven and inside the drawer (if applicable)

  • If you are feeling ambitious, you can clean between the glass as well. Watch this tutorial to see how to do that.

You are just about thru week 2!! Great job!! See here for Day 4's task.
